HootVid provides support for most any data source that you might want to use. We can also accommodate feed links to data scrapes (Hoot or non). In order to submit a website indexing request from Hoot, navigate to the Support panel in the main tab cluster.

Select Website Indexing Request.

Fill out the respective fields in the form. The URL that is entered will be the URL that is indexed. If there are any additional notes regarding how you would like the site indexed, please let us know. If our team has any follow-up questions, we will reach out via support ticket. This is how you will receive your feed link as well.

Once your link has been provided, it then can be added as a data source for the advertiser in the HootVid platform. Any additional filters can be added at the ad level.

Submitting an Indexing Request

  1. Navigate to the Data Sources menu.

  2. On the right-hand side, you will see an option to “Request Scrape”.

  1. Fill out the modal with all relevant advertiser information. Hit “Confirm Request”.

This will prompt a support request in our ticketing system. A Hoot support team member will provide you with a feed link for use in the HootVid platform.

Adding a Hoot Feed

  1. Navigate to the Data Sources menu.

  2. On the right-hand side, you will see an option to “Create New”.

Data Builder

This sub-menu will guide you with building the new data source. You can contact support in this menu for additional guidance as well. Here, we will select our data source, attach data, and add filters.

  1. Select “External” for your data source option and then the “Next Step ” button.

  1. Name your new data source, and paste the feed link provided by the Hoot team. You can also access any advanced settings and preview your data to ensure that it is formatted correctly. Hit “Next”.

  1. Apply any Filter Presets to your data source. Hit “Save & Finish”.

These presets are optional. Filtering can be set at the ad level as well.

  1. Now that your data source has been added, you can either directly move into Creating an Ad, or return to the Advertisers menu.
