Facebook Distribution
For the client facing portion of the request, see our support documentation. After a client submits a request, a support ticket will automatically generate.

Requesting Access:
Ensure that all required elements are included.
Ad Account ID, Page ID, and Ad Set ID
Navigate to Facebook Business Settings.
One the left-hand side, you will see options for both the “Page” and “Ad Account”. We will need to request access to both.
Once inside of the section that you’re requesting access for, hit the “+ Add” button in the top right corner. The selections are different for the Page and Ad Account. Please use the following when requesting access.
The process is the same for both options moving forward.
Next, input your ID, and then request the bottom-most option for “Full Control.”
Hit “Confirm”
Client Follow-Up
Use the canned response “HV: Facebook Setup Request” in your ticket thread.
This will let the client know that we have requested access, who will be able to approve, and actions they can take in the meantime.
Mark the ticket as “Pending Facebook Approval”.
If the client needs any assistance setting up their ad to be copied, assist them as needed.
Frequently monitor the requests in Facebook Business Settings by searching for the ID. The client may inform you that this has been completed as well.
Assigning Users
Once the request is approved, you will be able to assign yourself as a user. This process is the same for both the Page and Ad Account.
Due to Facebook’s increasing security permissions, we are required to have the assigned user (specifically their user token) create the ad in HootVID via copying the clients initial ad. This new ad can then be copied again by the user at their digression without our intervention.
In Business Settings, navigate to the Page or Ad Account and select “Assign People”.
Select yourself, and assign the highest level of permissions (full control).
You will now see yourself as a designated user for the Page or Ad Account.
Do the same process for both the Page and Ad Account.
Facebook Settings in HootVID
In HootVID, navigate to the Advertiser and confirm the ad that we will copy.
Copy the ad, and select “Facebook” as the distribution method.
While in the Ad Editor, select yourself as the “Facebook User”.
Fill in the rest of the fields based on the initial Jira Request. Most importantly the IDs that link to the advertiser and campaign (Ad Account ID, Page ID, and Ad Set ID).
Do not make any other changes to the ad unless requested by the client.
Save & Render.
Navigate back to the original ticket in Jira. Here, we will use the “HV: Facebook Distribution Ready” canned response to let the client know their ad is ready.
