Search template keeps turning on/off incorrect inventory (For Example: New vs Used, Vehicles out of stock still active, all ad groups are turned off)

  • Review template destination URL verify for accuracy (Correct CMS format, ad group structure matches URL Structure)

  • Review template filters ensure nothing conflicts

  • Review Adwords activity in backend, see if you can identify any discrepancies, test ad urls to ensure landing correctly

Missing RSA Ads [OR] No Ads

  • Auto Templates Look at template errors and look for API Issues.

  • Most common issue is that the client has not correctly set-up ad customizers inside Google Ads. Capitalization Matters

  • Google ads requires attributes and file names to match exactly.

  • For Customizer fille make sure reference in ads and file name match exactly. “vehicles” vs “Vehicles”

  • Customizer is same example “Min_Price” vs “min_price”

  • Character limit has been reached so ads will not be pushed (Ensure client is using alternate ad copy)

  • Error Message: The error code not in this version

  • Error Message: Too Long

Ads/Campaign not running

  • Verify the default bid was adjusted off of $.01

  • Verify ad groups have active ads

Hoot Email Alert: No eligible campaigns in Google Ads for Hoot Monitor management !

  • Most Probable solution employee who originally authenticate advertiser either changed their access or left the company and is no longer an admin

  • Check authentication Status, Have client set authentication at client level

  • Check to make sure campaigns are active

  • Ensure campaigns have IM_Include label attached

  • Error Message: No eligible campaigns in Google Ads for Hoot Monitor management !

  • Campaigns usually shut iff at the end of the month due to reduced budget which will flag this error

  • If using auto templates just make sure the associated campaign have the label.

Hoot Email Alert: Wrong VDP’s

  • Our system detected the vehicle VDP being passed to us is different than the advertiser domain.

  • Client must contact the Web-provider to fix.

Model Numbers in My Keywords/Ad Copy

  • Check model values inside display feed

  • Check model value in backend

  • You are looking for combinations such as: River Creek 385TH

  • You can confirm this is the case by looking at the ad groups created by the auto template. In many cases it will include the model name. If you see the model number just ask the dev team to isolate the model number and remove it.

  • Usually with a reconfiguration you can fix this but the dev team will need to know what the issue is.

  • This issue is only applicable to Auto templates

  • You may need to double check the landing url still works after removing the model value. Dev may need to create a second model attribute to give you a clean model name.
