Expanded Text Ad Customizer Setup {Feature No Longer Available Inside Google}
Follow along with the Ad Customizer Setup Video, or follow the steps below.
Step 1: Create Business Data Feed
a) From the Business Data section of the Shared Library, click the “+ Data” button and select “Ad customizer data”.
b) In the name field, enter “vehicles”.
c) Upload the Ad Customizer template file to define the fields for the new vehicles feed. You can get a copy of the Ad Customizer template file here – Ad customizer initial feed (CSV Download).
Feed links for your ad customizer data can be found in the Inventory Feeds tab of each advertiser account.
Step 2: Create Ads
You may insert two ad customizer fields into ads. . .
{=vehicles.count:Available and} – The number of vehicles associated with a search results page on the advertizers’s website.
{=vehicles.min_price:Call For Details} – The price value of the lowest price vehicle in the same search results page.
Example Ad Customizer Ad:
Preowned Nissan Xterra
{=vehicles.count:Available and} In Stock as low as {=vehicles.min_price:Call For Details}

*Best practice for dynamic text insertion is to include default text. Default text will replace any attribute that may be missing from the ad customizer field. For example if the vehicle in example above did not display a price on the website it would return a “null” or empty value. The default text will be used in the place of the missing attribute for the field.
*Note that you will not be able to create ad customizer ads until the vehicles feed has been setup as instructed in Step 1.
Step 3: Schedule Uploads
In AdWords shared library, select the “vehicles” feed that you created in step 1. From there, click on the “Scheduled Uploads” tab. Select the frequency for scheduled uploads and enter the HTTPS link found in the Inventory Feeds tab of the Inventory Monitor interface. No username and password is necessary.
