HootVid users operating within the Microsoft ecosystem are able to use Excel as a data source, similarly to Google Sheets.

Step 1.

Create the sheet that you want to use as a data source.

This sheet must be saved through Sharepoint for this URL to work.

Step 2.

Within Sharepoint, navigate to your excel document and generate your URL via Share > Copy Link > Share Settings > Anyone.

Step 3.

Once the link has been copied, append &download=1 to the end of the URL to make the URL download instead of opening the excel file. This is the URL that will be used within HootVid Data sources.

Example Sheet format:

https://advancelocal-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/g/personal/ptober_advancelocal_net/EdqeQBBhKspFiXy_SP398XQBWjT48UEc0SH9jMprzZyLtQ?e=SAHQFJ

Append:

&download=1

Working Data Source URL:

https://advancelocal-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/g/personal/ptober_advancelocal_net/EdqeQBBhKspFiXy_SP398XQBWjT48UEc0SH9jMprzZyLtQ?e=SAHQFJ&download=1

Be aware, any change to the name of this document will generate a new URL structure. This will require users to repeat steps 2 + 3 and then update the data source within HootVid.
