RV Classes
RVs are divided into different classes, which search results pages (SRPs) are sometimes sorted by. Make sure you’re looking in the right place!
Motorhome RVs:
● Class A - Big, bus-sized RVs
● Class B - Camper vans, pretty small
● Class C - Built into normal truck, medium/big
Towable RVs:
● Pop-up Trailers - compact, “unfolded” once parked
● Travel Trailers - normal motorhome class-A type, but towed
● Toy Haulers - travel trailers that have a garage to bring ATVs, motorcycles, etc.
● Fifth Wheels - largest RVs, require specific type of truck bed
● Truck Campers - mount on back of a pickup truck
RV Manufacturers and Brands
● Many RV manufacturers have the word “RV” in them, which is good to keep in mind regarding final URLs, headlines/descriptions, and the clients’ preferences, etc. The client may also want to use [make_alt:make] customizers for these manufacturers.
● Often on RV sites, what we would consider the make, is listed as the manufacturer and the “model” is listed as the brand. This is not always the case but something you’ll likely run into working with RV sites.
● In Hoot, the Manufacturer is pulled in as the Make, and the Brand is pulled in as the model
Things to Watch Out For
Sometimes, RV dealers’ search pages work in different ways than expected, and different than many “normal” automotive dealers. For example, this site has manufacturer and brand (make and model) listed in the same menu. To select both a make and model, you need to hold the ctrl key.
