Authentication to Google Ads

Authentication to Google Ads

How to Authenticate the Hoot Platform with Google

  • Found in the Client Setting area under Authentication

  • This should be done at the client level (It can be done at the individual advertiser depending on the number of advertisers you need to link it for -However, Google limits each user to 50 authentications so this can cause issues if multiple advertisers are set-up using a unique authentication.)

  • To Authenticate at the individual advertiser level, this can be found on Tab 5 Google Ads Integration of the Advertiser settings within Hoot Monitor (* Tab 5 becomes available when opted into the Search Product Feature on Tab 2 for Google Ads Search Integration)

  • From the example below, you would enter the corresponding CID (Customer ID) from the Google Ads MCC and then click the Authenticate button to sync it with Hoot to review the eligible campaigns. If you get an authentication pop up upon saving you can simply follow the authentication steps.

Best Practices:

  • It is recommended you create a unique User with Admin access or use an existing Team ID so this does not need to be changed if employees leave the agency (This id is also the id associated with any changes our system might make within the Google Platform.)
