VAST Tags & Reformatting

Some platforms only accept third-party VAST tags from approved vendors. Two of which, are Amazon and Hulu. Hoot currently isn’t an approved vendor for either of these platforms, but the partnership application process is underway.

Our current solution is to partner with a third-party vendor that is approved by these platforms. This was our approach with Amazon tags specifically. The diagram above displays the workflow for VAST tags.

All standard VAST tags for the HootVID platform are fulfilled internally in Hoot, as we can easily serve those ads. Standard VAST tags in the legacy platform are provided by Springserve.

  • For Amazon, we are currently partnered with Sizmek. However, they are deprecating support for Amazon tags by the end of the year (2024), and we are currently seeking a new solution.

  • For Hulu, we will explore additional vendors and seek partnerships after Amazon has been resolved.
