HootVID accepts multiple image file types. However, PNGs are strongly recommended. JPEG/JPG is also an accepted format.

Image file sizes depend entirely on the template design that you are using. However, certain upload option will have a required size and will be marked as so.

Open

Voiceovers & Background Tracks

• Format: .mp3 or .wav

• Audio sample rate: 48k

• Length: 15 or 30 seconds

Videos

HootVID requires MP4 files for video upload.

• Recommended video format: H.264

• Recommended file size: < 150mb

• Recommended video resolution: 1920×1080

• Recommended bit rate: > 5mbps (keep this higher if you prefer)

• Recommended video frame rate: 29.97

• Recommended length: 15 or 30 seconds

• Recommended audio sample rate: 48k

Asset Upload Issues

1. Select Contact Support under the Support tab in the main menu.

2. Select Asset Upload Issue from the dropdown.

3. Fill in the form as shown. Submitting will open a support ticket where one of our support team members will assist with asset conversion.

Specialty Templates

There are a few select templates in the HootVid library that require certain specifications. Several are listed below.

Companion GreenScreen

• Same Video/Audio Specs as normal companion Ad

• Best practice for positioning Talent: 

  • Keep talent within left 50% of the frame

  • Knee-up or waist-up framing of talent

  • Talent will gesture to the left/right (depending on the template) with any direct reference to inventory

  • Ensure that the talent’s gestures/body (other than legs/feed) are not moving out of frame.

Custom Frame Companion

This template utilizes custom-sized background assets. The specifications for each section are outlined in this sample graphic.
