Facebook Pages as a Data Source
HootVid’s latest feature brings you the power of on-demand scraping for any public Facebook page. Simply place a Facebook page URL into the new data source tab within HootVid and within a few seconds, you will have a data feed of that page.
These feeds update nightly, or anytime you manually re-fetch them (if needed at a higher frequency contact support). Scraped data includes images, headlines, post content, post date, and post author. These data feeds operate like any other source and can be used to quickly create ads utilizing our general or Facebook specific templates.
These Facebook Templates are a great, dedicated option for advertisers that might not have a great website or up -to-date dynamic content, but invest in maintaining a curated Facebook presence.
Example:
Adding a Google Sheet in HootVid
Navigate to the Data Sources menu.
On the right-hand side, you will see an option to “Create New”.
Data Builder
This sub-menu will guide you with building the new data source. You can contact support in this menu for additional guidance as well. Here, we will select our data source, attach data, and add filters.
Similar to using a Hoot Feed as your data source, we will also select “External” for Google Sheets.
Within the Feed URL field, simply insert any public Facebook page URL.
Only Facebook pages that are public are subject to configuration. If your page is private, we will not be able to index.
