Mid-Day Refresh or Domain Change

This request occurs when a client makes change to their website after our nightly index and they would like for their feeds to reflect the updated inventory. This encompasses a wide range of potential changes.

Example: A client made some change(s) to their VDP(s).

  1. On the original ticket, create a subtask in Jira for one of our Configuration team members to field.

  1. In this subtask, ensure that the following are listed

    1. Advertiser Name and ID

    2. Reason for the subtask (mid-day refresh)

  2. Confirm with the client on the original ticket that the request has been fielded and we will reach out again when the reconfiguration has finished. For standard advertisers, this usually takes a couple of hours, but can increase due to site or inventory complexity.

Adding/Formatting Fields

This request occurs when a client needs an additional field for an existing feed, or needs an update to an existing field.

Example A: An automotive client that wants to add an “MSRP” field in addition to their dealer “PRICE” to build a price drop style ad.

Example B: An automotive client wants their “TITLE” field to be in all caps to meet COOP compliance.

  1. Identify if the request warrants a change to the feed.

    1. Example: A client wants to add “VIN#” text in front of their VIN number attribute. Rather than reaching out to the configuration team, we can achieve this manually

  1. If unable to manipulate the data attributes to achieve the client’s ask, on the original ticket, create a subtask in Jira for one of our Configuration team members to field.

  2. In this subtask, ensure that the following are listed

    1. Advertiser Name and ID

    2. Reason for the subtask

  3. Confirm with the client on the original ticket that the request has been fielded and we will reach out again when the reconfiguration has finished. For standard advertisers, this usually takes a couple of hours, but can increase due to site or inventory complexity.

Additional Feeds

This issue occurs when a client would like to index multiple pieces of independent data from the same website. In these cases, we will handle the request the same as an indexing request.

Example A: An automotive client wants one feed to display vehicles, and another for service specials, as they are running two types of ads in HootVid

Example B: A real estate client wants one feed to display homes/property, and another for client testimonials.

In Hoot Monitor, when adding a new advertiser in HootVid Agency for a speciality feed, please designate this in the Special Requests section.
