2022-04 Release Notes
Release Date: January 16, 2022
Sprint Overview
This release marks the wrap up of enhanced responsive search ad functionality. The pinned headline feature is now available in all responsive search ad templates. With the ability to utilize both ad customizers and pinned headlines all within Hoot Auto templates, users are prepared to take full advantage of the migration away from expanded text ads. The remaining bandwidth of the sprint has been spent on cleaning up database functionality and bugs.
Responsive Search Ads - Pinned Headlines
By default in Google Ads, when you create a responsive search ad, headlines and descriptions can appear in any order. You can control where individual headlines and descriptions appear in your ad by pinning headlines and descriptions to specific positions. This functionality is now available within Hoot Auto Templates for responsive search ads.
Within the "Edit ad" section of your templates, navigate to the headline or description you want to pin.
Tap the pin icon that appears next to the headline or description.
Select what position you want to pin your headline or description to by selecting from the popup box.
No pin choice results in an “unpinned“ position by default.
This functionality passes through into Google Ads exactly as if you had pinned them manually.
